Raising a Girl

...Means there will be more pink miniature handbags in your house than adult sized black leather ones.

...She will be able to run around on wood flooring in clip clop shoes at full speed without ever tripping or twisting an ankle by the time she is three.

...You have your own mini-me to yell at your son when he tries to pick up his food with his hands when your back is turned.

...You have a shopping buddy for life and she will feel the fabric of dresses in the store, just like you, and say 'Oooh, pretty dress Mommy!'

...Equally, before she is potty trained she will say "That shirt is ugly Mama,' while you are holding up a garment and pondering its purchase and the women around you will snigger.

...She will sprinkle imaginary substances from her little heart shaped wallet and call it "princess sparkle," and you will have no idea where she got this from.

...She will tell YOU if she's having a bath or not.

...She will use her brother's train table as a stage. That's a given.

...She will have a thirst for perfect little dolls with arched eyebrows and itty bitty waists whether you like it or not.

...At some point she may ask you for boobies for Christmas. This happened at age two in our case.

...It will take you a while to realize she was referring to a bra and not actual boobies. And yes, this is equally alarming.

...She will call her Daddy a Prince and you will see his heart melt on the spot.

...She will treat all animals and dolls like she is Mother Teresa.

...Her favourite color will be pink, this is not up for discussion. You can name her Violet if you want, but still her favourite color will be pink.

...She will stomp her feet, cross her arms and pout if she doesn't get her own way, even though she has never seen anyone actually do this. Its genetic.

...If you take away her princesses and give her a box of superheroes to play with, they will be having a tea party in seconds.

...The word 'princess' will be used more than any other word in her vocabulary. It will drive you mad.

...When she goes to bed you will miss her spunkiness.
