Fleece and Fiber Fair

Caden has a new carseat, its big and comfy with all the bells and whistles like cup holders and armrests and such. This is what he thinks of it:

"Mama, I like my old seat"
Good thing Violet has a few pounds to grow until she moves into his old seat or he would REALLY want to keep his old seat! It mustn't have been so bad because he fell asleep in about 2 minutes and his head didn't hang forward like it usually does.

Happy stop
We stopped along the way because Violet had been screaming since we left. We stopped, she smiled, she played with the vents and waved at the people in the next car, she nursed and happily went back into her carseat. She then continued to scream her little face off for another 6 miles. Somehow, Caden slept through it (perhaps it was the  comfort of his new carseat?)

Baaaa!

Caden and Violet checked out the array of sheep. For some reason every time an animal came to inspect Violet she raised her right arm! She was like a sheep whisperer or something because the sheep loved her. Particularly this one.

"Why aye man"

This sheep was coincidentally from Norththumberland, I asked him if he knew he was missing my cousin Andrew and Lindsay's wedding back home on this very day.

"Though shall have a fishy, on a little dishy, though shall have a fishy when the boat comes in"
There was a lot of fleece and fiber to be seen...
The alpaca ladies

There was a whole alpaca sheering demonstration and a group of ladies spinning and weaving the wool. Very cool.
Caden's catalog pose

See, she's a sheep charmer! Check out the arm!

"Be calm, young sheep"

My Violet

Violet and  I checked out the historical barns and picked a quiet place to take some pretty pictures.

Lillies and Violets

Yes my nose is messy but I am still cute!

I made Violet a bunch of little hand sewn hair clips. They are the first clips that actually stay in her baby fine hair and she doesn't seem to realise they are even there!

My favorite line from Caden today was (very loud) "Oh wow, there's a cowboy!" The 'cowboy' was just a man wearing a straw hat with his wife!

Watching the alpacas get a hair cut, you're next buddy!

Picnic time

But my favorite part of the day was Caden being so interested in the Angora Rabbits, that the lady took them out for him to pet! This little guy and his brothers and sisters are only 3 weeks old!
"Can we take him home Daddy, please? Please?" (that was me, not Caden).

Caden loved the rabbits and was very gentle!
This rabbits name was Grandma!

Its a fluffy pillow...

Now its a rabbit!
 What a fun day out.

Violet fancies herself as a Farmer's wife

love the new pics. I love farms and sheep! Looks like Caden and Violet had fun. Violet might be a farmer's wife when she's older and she can keep those sheep in tow. Caden's comment was funny about the 'cowboy'. Love them and really not long now until I see you all again. Excited! xxx
