Seven
Dear Caden,
Today you are six but tomorrow you will be seven. You have grown so much this past year, it doesn't feel like you have that much to grow until you are the same height as me. The other night I was snuggling with Violet and then hopped into your bed for your snuggle, but you had just dropped off to sleep. In your sleepy state you still reached out and put arms around my shoulders tightly. Suddenly it became apparent how heavy and big your arms were around me, that you were growing before our eyes from a little boy to a big boy this year. But the stuffed animals around your head tell me you are still little yet. Your polar bear throw blanket 'Fuzzy Wuzzy', or just Fuzzy for short, that you take to bed every night and bring down every morning reminds me that you're not so big. Not yet. Once you hop on the school bus in the morning and I make the beds and see all your sea animals and sock monkeys have been left on your bed crowded around the iPad watching a video, I smile to myself. You are still little yet.
This year we are throwing you a party at a Lego place. Because you live and breathe lego you see. Star Wars Lego mostly. As I make my tea in the morning all I hear from the playroom are 'pow, pow, pow' type battle noises coming from those mini light sabers and weapons. You sure know how to keep yourself busy with your games Caden.
You are a very caring, understanding and loving sweet boy Caden and you make me proud everyday. The love between you and Violet is so wonderful, you are the true caring big brother I never had and always wanted, looking out for her every step of the way.
You and Daddy have your own boy club now when you play 3DS games and find joy in collect baseball cards together, just like a Daddy and his father and brother! You definitely like to collect things!
It's very rare that you and I are alone these days and Violet is usually stuck to my hip and if she isn't she is stuck to yours! But when we are going somewhere together we squeeze each others hand and call it 'a date'! There are plenty of times during the day when you appear under my arm or sit in my lap, you love lots of cuddles!

1. You are obsessed with Star Wars Lego!
2. You are always happy.
3. You are very easy going and do not get nervous about anything and take n new things as they come.
4. You are very into eating what's healthy and have a lot of questions about what we are eating and if it's good or bad for us. You always remind me to conserve water and make sure we are recycling! if Violet doesn't wash her hands properly you let me know and if she doesn't brush her teeth properly you have been known to brush them for her! She even lets you floss her teeth!
5. You are a homebody at this age, you prefer to be home with your toys than going out for a day out.
6. You are a little ray of sunshine, the eternal optimist, always seeing the glass half full.
7. You are a great friend to all of your friends and like nothing more than bringing a friend home for a play date.
